
Hazel Hagen Johnson, age 80, of Elcho died August 11, 2011 at her home. She was born on July 17, 1931 in Rhinelander, WI to Helen and James “Frank” Hagen. She graduated from RHS in 1950. She married Warren “Doc” Johnson on August 11, 1951. She worked for St. Mary’s Hospital as a nurses aide for many years. She enjoyed gardening, craft making, rug making, knitting, watching birds and berry picking.
Hazel is survived by her husband, Warren “ Doc”, her children Maryann Brueggmann of Germany, Carolann (Chip) Schoeneck of Rhinelander, Bill Johnson, Pete (Roseanna) Johnson both of Elcho, grandchildren Stephanie, David, Tera, Jan, Joseph and Samantha and five great grand children, her sisters Helen Gaston of Seaside, OR and Elvira “Scottie” (Dan) Stevens of Rhinelander. Further survived by numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother Gordon Hagen.
Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, August 16, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. at United Church of Christ in Elcho with Pastor Jack LaMar officiating. Interment will be at the Elcho Cemetery. Visitation will be on Monday, August 15, 2011 from 4:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. at Hildebrand Russ Funeral Home. There will also be a visitation from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service at the church on Tuesday. A memorial has been established in Hazel’s name and can be directed to the family.
