Homer James Brockman, age 72, of Rhinelander, formerly of Stager, IL passed away at his home surrounded by his family on Thursday August 29, 2013 He was born August 19, 1941 to Homer Sr. and Mildred (Nichols) Brockman in Chicago Heights, IL. Homer moved to Rhinelander in 1978. He owned and operated several taverns in the area; “The Cove”, “Ace High”, and “Crescent Corners”. He also owned and operated Prairie River Recycling. On June 5, 1993 he married the former Jeannine Wulf. Homer loved Camping, baseball (Cubs), Football (Bears) Harley Davidson motorcycles, taking rides through the country, going to the casino, and spending time with his family and friends.
Homer is survived by his wife Jeannine Brockman, his two step daughters, Florie (Charles) Craig, and Trina (Shane Lammert) Wulf. He is further survived by his grandsons, Devin Wulf, Jacob Platt, and James Shea, his brothers; William (Linda) Brockman of Crete, IL and Edward (Alice) Brockman of South Chicago Heights, IL., his sisters, Jennifer Anthony of St. Ager, IL, and Katherine (Phil) Wise of Stager, IL. He is also further survived by many brother and sister-in –laws as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Ronald Brockman, sister-in-law Nancy Brockman, and a brother-in-law Charlie Anthony.
A funeral service will be Thursday, September 5, 2013 at 11:00am at Hildebrand Russ Funeral Home with Deacon Mike Harvey officiating. Visitation will be from 9:00am until the time of service.
