
James A. Roesler, age 77, Died Thursday January 9, 2014, at St. Mary’s Hospital. He was born July 22, 1936 to Alfred and Eileen (Fries) Roesler in Sheboygan, Wisconsin. Jim moved to Rhinelander as a young boy, graduating from Rhinelander High School in 1956. He joined the U.S. Navy and served on the USS Salisbury Sound. After serving, he returned to Rhinelander worked at Rhinelander Foods, and then as a Rhinelander Firefighter reaching the rank of Lieutenant. After retiring, he worked at St. Mary’s Hospital, and then in the receiving department of Walmart. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved to fish, hunt, snowshoe, and walk in the forest. Jim married the former Barbara Karenke, and had one son, Michael.
He is survived by his son Michael of Rhinelander, stepson John (Danielle) Eldred of Beaverton, Oregon, sister Rita (John) Kovach of Ashland, brothers William (Dawn) Roesler and Daniel (Glenda) Roesler of Rhinelander also many nieces and nephews. He is further survived by his ex-wife and friend Evie Skinner.
Proceeded in death by his first wife, brother Richard Roesler, a ’68 Vietnam casualty, and a niece Jessica Roesler.
