
Robert “Bob” Duane Miller, 80, of Rhinelander, Wisconsin passed away Sunday, May 11, 2014 with loved ones by his side. Bob was born on January 12, 1934 to Winnie and Cecila Miler in Rhinelander. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War and later worked for the Paper Company for 44 years, retiring in 1996. As a lifelong resident of Rhinelander, Bob thoroughly enjoyed the Northwoods, fishing with his wife and hunting. He also shared an affinity for riding and training American Saddlebread and Quarter horses with his closest friends. Most of all, Bob had a passion for family and friends with whom he traveled, laughed and enjoyed music. He played the role of Santa for countless years and was always fondly known as Uncle Bob.
Bob is survived by his brother-in-law, Edward Mikkelson, nieces, Annette (Steve) Lawrence, Linda (Al) Apfel and Cindy (Mark) Vozka, nephews, Mike, Steve and Mark Miller, Kevin (Robin) Curby, Joe (Amber) Vozka, Travis Vozka, and many more who were like family, along with a number of close friends.
He was prececded in death by his wife Florence, parents, Winnie and Cecil (Peevy) Miller, brother Raymond and sister Donna Mikkelson.
A Memorial Mass will be held Friday, May 23, 2014 at 10:00 AM at Nativity of Our Lord - St. Mary’s Church with Father Tom Thakadipuram officiating. A memorial has been established in Bob name and may be given to his family. Hildebrand Russ Funeral Home, 715-365-4343 is assisting the family with arrangement.
