February 16, 1990 – May 9, 2018 Adela was unmercifully taken from us after a long battle with Lafora Disease. Romanian born, Adela moved to the USA at the age of 5, along with her parents. She started school only days after her arrival. She was an exemplary student with a thirst for learning and ambition to be among the best. She graduated from Highland Park High School in 2008. By that time the disease was starting to take a significant toll on her body. When her peers went on to fulfill their dreams, she fell under the sword of struggle. Over the following years she humbled us with her resilience, fiery love for life, and undaunted courage, all stemming from her beautiful, strong spirit. Adela was fascinated by the history of antiquity, she loved poetry, and she was an avid reader, ever curious and witty to a fault. She had a heart melting smile, a strong sense of humor, and a boundless generosity. Her dream was to travel the world to investigate places marked by history. Most of her dream remained just that. Adela, we told you thousands of times how much we love you. Here is another time: we love you beyond any boundary. Please come to us from time to time. We will be forever waiting for you. Our angel, our sunshine, our greatest joy and deepest sorrow. And please forgive us our unfulfilled promises. Love, Mom and Dad Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 12, from 4-8pm at Sparkman Funeral Home, 1029 S. Greenville Ave, Richardson, TX 75081. The funeral service is scheduled at the Sparkman chapel on Sunday, May 13, starting at 2:30pm, followed by the burial at Restland Cemetery.

To the friends and family of Adela Richer - I just heard about Adela's passing through the HPHS Alumni "In Memoriam" page. I was in classes with Adela since elementary, almost always in the same schedule since we were both in "TAG" classes. I always enjoyed being around Adela! She was sweet, witty, very smart (even when her seizures first started), serious, mature, and a good friend. I'm so sorry for your loss and I'm glad Adela is not suffering any longer. With love, Kendall Berns.

A beautiful soul has gone up to Heaven.
Her spirit is free and unchained.
Her beauty and grace, her caring and giving heart will live beyond in our memories.
God is smiling upon His newly arrived Angel.
She believed...

May God rest you in peace for eternity, Adela. You will never be forgotten, and you will forever be in our hearts and prayers.

With much love,

Roxana, Andrew & Adrian Cocos
