He was born on January 1, 1938 and raised in Edwardsville, IL to Frederick and Irene Weber. He had four wonderful siblings, Kenneth (deceased), Joan Hayes, Elaine Heras and Elizabeth McGehee.
Allan graduated from Edwardsville High School in 1956. He went on to Colorado State University and graduated in 1960 with a degree in Wildlife Management and Air Force ROTC. Following graduation, he went into the U.S. Air Force as a fighter pilot. His first base, Reese in Lubbock, TX, is where he met and married Julia Redding (deceased) in 1961.
He is survived by his four children, Brian, Virginia, Amy Summerfelt and Jeffrey; six grandchildren, Sean and Joseph Summerfelt, Katharina, Michael, Matthew and Daniel Weber, nieces, nephews and other loving relatives.
He served two tours in Vietnam. First flying close air support on an A-15 Skyraider, second as a Forward Air Controller flying an O-1 Birddog. After moving his family to several bases around the world, he retired in Austin, TX in 1983.
He enjoyed life by playing golf, fishing, hunting, fixing cars and was a grill master. While in Austin, he founded the Central Texas Trail Tamers, an organization dedicated to helping maintain trails in the National Parks.
A funeral mass will be held June 9, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. in the Gift Chapel at Ft. Sam Houston in San Antonio, TX, followed by a graveside service at 2:30 at the National Cemetery at Ft. Sam Houston.
