She was born April 9, 1936, in Greenville, TX, the youngest child of Lola Lee and Verna Parsons. Barbara modeled for the Dr. Pepper company and also enjoyed many years working as a caregiver and was beloved by all her patients. She will be remembered for her love of music and dancing, her kind spirit and listening ear, and most of all her deep and abiding love for family.
Barbara is survived by her five children; Regina Gay and husband, Hal, Reece Abbe, Randy Abbe, Rhonda Pierce Bradford, Thomas Pierce and wife, Rebecca, and grandchildren; Trudy Gay, Andrea Stewart, Ricky Abbe, Todd Abbe, Randy Abbe Jr., Marilyn Fitch, Amber Abbe, Patrick Pierce, Steven Bradford, Tapper Pierce, David Joshua Pierce, Brian Thomas, and several great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her beloved son, Ricky Abbe, husband Tom Pierce and grandson, Reece Abbe Jr.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 31 at 1pm at Sparkman Funeral Home, 1029 S. Greenville Avenue Richardson TX 75081. Visitation Monday, July 30 6pm-8pm.
