Billy Gregory Kennedy age 48, passed from this life on March 26, 2018 in Kansas City, MO. He was born on October 11, 1969 in McKeesport, Pennsylvania to the parents of Billy Joe Kennedy and Irene Georgopoulos Kennedy.
He is preceded in death by both parents. He is survived by son John-Patrick Todd Kennedy of Quinlan, TX, son John Paul Greene of North Carolina, partner Ruth Ann Mayhew of Kansas City, MO, sister Teresa Kennedy Hicks (Michael) of Sunnyvale, TX, brother Patrick Kelly (Donna) of Raytown, MO, Nephew Braden Hicks (fiancé Kathryn Montes) of Garland, TX, niece Emily Hicks of Waco, TX, niece Sara Hicks of Sunnyvale, TX, Nephew Jonathan Kelly (Marla) of Mesquite, TX, Niece Briana Gross (Aaron) of Kansas City, MO, Nephew Nikolas Kelly of Raytown, MO, Great nieces Callia and Demi Kelly of Mesquite, TX and great nieces Layla Lee and Olivia Gross of Kansas City, MO as well as a host of friends and extended family in both Texas and Missouri.
Billy was a graduate of Hickman Mills High School in 1987. He enjoyed a career of over 27 years as a Journeyman plumber. He worked a multitude of commercial and residential jobs as a superintendent and manager for several plumbing companies in both Missouri and Texas.
As a young boy his passion was motocross. He spent many weekends at the track and raced motorcycles for many years in his youth.
Billy possessed a wicked sense of humor and loved to tell a good story. He was a protector and tremendously loyal to those he loved.
Billy was fiercely proud of his Greek heritage and consequently his faith as a Greek Orthodox remained constant throughout his life. He was a generous soul with a loving heart. He was always happy to give of himself to those in need.
He will be greatly missed.
The family will be accepting guests at Sparkman Funeral Home in Richardson, Texas on Monday, April 2, 2018 from 5:00pm-7:00pm. Funeral services will be a Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church in Dallas, Texas on Tuesday, April 3, 2018 at 1:00pm with Father Peter Kostakis officiating. Interment will follow at Laurel Oaks Memorial Park in Mesquite, Texas. Pallbearers for the service will be John Patrick Kennedy, Braden Hicks, Jonathan Kelly, Aaron Gross, Jeff Durham, and Troy Schuch.
