We miss you now,
our hearts are sore,
as time goes by,
we miss you more,
your loving smile,
your gentle face,
No one can fill your vacant place.
It is with great sadness we share the death of Cristy Ann (Swartz) Billeaudeaux, age 63, on June 12, 2024, to a courageous and gallant fight against Lung cancer. Cristy entered God’s Kingdom holding the hand of her forever love and devoted husband of 32 years, Gary H. Billeaudeaux. Cristy was born in Ft. Worth, Texas at Carswell Air Force Base on September 11, 1960.
She graduated from John Marshall High School in San Antonio, Texas. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from The University of the Incarnate Word in San Antonio. Cristy met her husband, Gary, at the San Antonio Light newspaper in May 1985 and later married on June 13, 1992, at St. Pius X Catholic Church in San Antonio. Together they went on to have 39 years together and 32 of them as husband and wife. Together they welcomed their son, Jacob Hubert in September 1994 and daughter, Mary Collette in 1996.
Forever the creative type, Cristy enjoyed success in photography, and custom card making, along with sewing, beading, and needlepoint to name a few. Cristy's knack for putting things together applied to her way of connecting with friends and having conversations. She had the ability to make you feel like her best friend whether she had known you for years or 5 minutes. Her unique style and sense of humor will be missed but mostly by the way she made you feel when you were with her. You never knew where conversations would go or what she might say but she always left you wanting more. Cristy had an infinite zest for life, one that was both inspiring and contagious. Cancer did not deter her from living a life full of love, faith, and laughter. Cristy’s eyes twinkled like stars in the sky and her laugh was incomparable beyond compare. She had an incredible knowledge of old movies, one that would rival most film critics. She loved music and dancing, especially to David Bowie. She heard beats no one else could and that’s why she will always be our one and only Cristy.
Her daily prayer was to be more Christ-like and to be as kind as she could be regardless of the pain she suffered. Her life, though shortened, reflected her prayer to be more Christ-like and kind, even to her last day. Cristy may be gone but the magic she sprinkled on this earth will always remain.
Cristy is preceded in death by her sister, Cheryl Swartz of San Antonio, Texas, and her mother, Lee Bowling of Austin, Texas.
Survived by her husband Gary, son Jacob, daughter Mary, son-in-law Kenneth Conde all of Dallas, Texas, her sister Cynthia (Swartz) Buechler of Austin Texas, and her father Burton Swartz of League City, Texas.
Cristy will be missed by her nieces and nephews along with her in-laws and stepfamily, all of whom she loved very much.
A Rosary Service will be on June 26, 2024, at 12:00 PM in St. Rita's Catholic Church; 12521 Inwood Road, Dallas, Texas, 75244; Funeral Mass will be held at 12:30 PM with a Reception to follow in Sweeny Hall.
The family would like to thank our many friends for their support, prayers, and generosity over the course of Cristy's cancer battle. We want to thank Gary's American Express family across the country for their similar support that has continued into Gary's retirement. God bless all of you.
