

David Cassin Dick, loving husband, father and granddaddy passed away on June 3, 2025, after a long illness at the age of 79. He was born on December 12, 1945 in San Antonio, Texas to Dr. Leslie G. Dick and Mary Elizabeth Cassin Dick. He grew up in San Antonio and graduated from Central Catholic High School in 1963 where he was a member of the Rifle Team. David received a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Texas Tech University in 1969. David was a proud Red Raider who served as Captain of the Rifle Team.
Upon graduation from Texas Tech, David moved to Dallas to work for Forrest and Cotton working on the design of runways at DFW airport. From there he became the first District Traffic Engineer for the City of Dallas, then to Fox and Jacobs where he designed the Colony and the to Texas Utilities where he was granted the company's first 2 patents. In 1979 he founded the David C. Dick Company, an Engineering and Surveying Company. He headed that firm until his health forced him to retire in 2023.
In 1975 he met the love of his life, Benita, and they were married in 1977. The couple welcomed two daughters, Anita Elizabeth and Carolyn Louise. David loved to hunt and hosted many hunting weekends with his friends at the family ranch in South Texas. He enjoyed many years of Saturday morning golf at the Northwood Club. David was a great chef and prepared many delicious meals for family and friends.
David was active in several organizations including East Dallas Rotary Club where he was a past president and Paul Harris Fellow. He was also a Past President of the Dallas Knife and Fork Club. He and Benita loved to dance and were members of the Dallas Dinner Dance Club, the Argyle Club, Kermis Club, and Tripper's Club. He was also a member of the Couples Book Club.
David is survived by his wife Benita, his daughters Anita Goldberg (Andy Casadei), Carolyn Boyer (Robert), grandchildren Charlie Fay Goldberg, Aidan Cassin Boyer and Isaac Ray Boyer, his nephew John David Wennermark (Robbie) and many close friends. Preceding David in death were his parents and his sister, Mary Ann Williams.
Rosary will be at 5 pm Monday, June 9th with Visitation to follow at Sparkman Funeral Home, 1029 South Greenville Avenue, Richardson, Texas. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Rita Catholic Church. 12521 Inwood Road, Dallas, Texas will be Tuesday, June 10th at 11:30 am with burial to be held at Restland Cemetery Friday, June 13th at 4 pm.
Donations may be made to Tunnel to Towers Foundation and the Alpha Gamma Delta Foundation directed to fighting hunger grants.
