Delores Ann Fitzsimmons, 83, known as Lorie, of Dallas Texas, died September 25, 2019 due to complications from Parkinson’s disease. Lorie was born October 14, 1935 in Madison, Wisconsin to Frank and Mary Korback. Her family lived on two dairy farms in southwest Wisconsin during her youth. Education was extremely important to her parents, so Lorie even attended boarding schools in larger towns during high school in order to receive the best education. Lorie married the love of her life, Jack Fitzsimmons of Chicago, Illinois on August 10, 1957 in Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin. The couple met while in college in Winona, Minnesota, where she attended the College of St. Teresa and majored in French, and Jack attended St. Mary’s College down the road. They were married the summer after they graduated from college and lived happily for 62 years, raising their family in suburban Chicago and Dallas. Lorie was an energetic and outgoing person who strived to be her best in everything she undertook. An outstanding student throughout her school years, she later poured herself into her role as a wife and stay at home mom, and then later in various jobs, finding success and winning awards in all of them, especially as a talented middle school teacher at various Catholic grade schools, including St. Rita School in Dallas. She is preceded in death by her parents, and also her siblings, Edward, Eugene, Donald, and Christine. She is survived by her husband, Jack; her children, Jack Jr. (Pam), Kathy (Mary Beth), and Earl (Maria); grandchildren Meghan Felter (Daniel), Johnny Fitzsimmons (Jordan), Kevin Fitzsimmons, Kathryn Fitzsimmons, Mitchell Cohen, and Morgan Cohen; greatgrandchildren Eliana, Rusty, and Ezekiel Felter, and Sloan and Quinn Fitzsimmons, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
