Dianne was born into a life she would spend devoted to caring for others. She was a loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, whose strength, loyalty, and compassion defined her every day. A natural caregiver, Dianne placed the needs of those she loved before her own, offering steady support and unwavering devotion throughout her life.
Dianne met her husband and soulmate Monty J. Teverbaugh at Memorial High School in Houston Texas. They shared a bond rooted in deep friendship and enduring love. Dianne was Monty’s constant partner and strongest advocate until his passing in 2005.
She was a devoted mother to her two children, Heather and Dustin, and found her greatest joy in being near her family. Following the loss of her husband, Dianne made homes in Atlanta, Denver, and Dallas, always choosing to remain close to those she loved most. She shared a particularly close bond with her daughter, Heather, with whom she lived for more than ten years. As a grandmother – a role she treasured deeply – she was lovingly known as “Dede”, a nickname inspired by her admiration for Princess Diana.
Dianne was known for her quick wit, and strong presence, balanced by a deeply caring and generous heart. She loved animals, had a passion for fashion and shopping, and was a wonderful cook and gracious hostess who delighted in bringing people together. She found happiness in tending her garden, spending time by the pool or at the beach, and especially during summers in Sarasota, Florida, where Fourth of July family traditions created lifelong memories.
Dianne was Episcopalian by faith and maintained a quiet, personal relationship with God that guided her throughout her life.
In addition to caring for her immediate family, Dianne devoted herself to others, lovingly caring for her mother, Dovie Murray, and later for her cousin Josie during her battle with cancer. Caring for others was not simply something she did—it was who she was.
She is survived by her daughter, Heather L. Teverbaugh of Dallas, Texas; her son, Dustin Teverbaugh, his wife Tara, and her beloved grandchildren, Chase and Ellie, of Alpharetta, Georgia; along with extended family and friends who will cherish her memory.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Monty J. Teverbaugh; her mother, Dovie Murray; and her half-sister, Patti.
In accordance with her wishes, Dianne will be cremated, and no formal service will be held at this time. A celebration of her life may be held at a later date.
