

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Dorothey "Dotty" Hail on August 4, 2025. Born February 25, 1942, Dotty lived a life full of love, tenacity, and kindness. She was a beacon of light in her family, always ready to lend a helping hand with a smile on her face.
Dotty is survived by her adoring husband, John Hail, and their children: Stephanie McCormack, Melanie Seyer, Sheryl Compton, John Hail Jr., and Terry Hail. Fondly remembered by her sons-in-law, Kevin Seyer and Robert McCormack, as well as daughter-in-law Wendy Hail, she will also be forever celebrated by a host of loving grandchildren: Andrea Stewart, Luis Guadian, Michael, Jennifer, Brooklynn and Noah Stewart, Maddie Mae Seyer, Mallory Seyer, Haley Mulkey, Ally Rose Mulkey, Grace Mulkey, Jack Cotherin, Jessica and Justin Morrison, Raechelle Stagner, Tamara and Nick Gambatesa, Kimber Glover, Dustin and Kaitlen Glover, and her cousins: Mary Margaret Harms, Richard Meggs, Frank Moore, and Randy Moore.
With a heart full of love and precious memories, Dotty was preceded in death by her loving parents Dorothey and Bert H. DeWees, in-laws Ray and Francis Hail, her supportive aunt and uncle Mary and Richard Meggs, and devoted grandparents Hazel and Henry Moore, and Nora and Bert Lee DeWees. She was also predeceased by her granddaughter Lindsay Hail, and Sid and Cactus Moore.
An avid fan of Tex-Mex food and Dr. Pepper, Dotty's rich passions illuminated every part of her life. From the soundtracks of Elvis Presley and Simon and Garfunkel to cozy Amish love stories, her love for life reverberated in all that she did.
Dotty cherished moments spent in front of the television with her family, with NCIS being a favorite. Her taste in film included classics like Sound of Music, My Fair Lady, Mr. Holland's Opus, and anything with Paul Newman and Elvis Presley. A sports enthusiast, she took great joy in cheering for her beloved Dallas Cowboys and Texas Rangers, yet wasn't averse to a heart-stirring performance of The Lion King musical or the Dallas Symphony.
In her spare time, Dotty enjoyed quality moments with her large family. Vacationing in exotic locations such as Alaska, Hawaii, Vietnam, and Thailand were some of the highlights of her life. She was a dedicated supporter of the Special Olympics and Helping Hearts, always advocating for love, kindness, and the spirit of endurance.
To remember Dotty is to remember her as a woman of persistent love, tenacity, and strong family values. With an enduring faith in God and His Son, she taught her family the value of kindness and the beauty of love. Dotty's most cherished accomplishments include raising her children and providing a warm and loving home, being a loving and loyal wife, her unwavering commitment to the Special Olympics, the drum corps, and the ROTC, and the devotion she showed in her church activities and to our country.
Dotty's legacy is one of kindness and generosity. Filled with memories of her fondness for her dogs and chickens, she leaves behind reminders of a life well-lived and a woman well-loved. She will be sorely missed, forever cherished and loved, and never forgotten.
