Dorothy (Dottie) Davis Anselmo passed into the arms of Jesus on Monday evening, November 18, 2013 at her home in Celina, Texas. She was born on January 22, 1932, in Grant, Alabama, to Mary Emmaline and William David Davis. On May 15, 1952, she married Cesare Joseph Anselmo and they celebrated 61 years of marriage this year.
She is preceded in death by her parents and her siblings Mary (Davis) Ballou, Mildred (Davis) Lewis, Johnny Davis and Ida (Davis) Fallier.
She is survived by her husband, Cesare Joseph Anselmo, of Celina, TX; her son Joseph David Anselmo and his wife, Patrice Seiler Anselmo, of Prosper, TX; her son Paul Steven Anselmo and his wife Laurie Weems Anselmo, of Prosper, TX. She is also survived by six grandchildren, Tina and her husband Dr. Raja Verma, of Plano, Texas; Nick and his wife Peyton Anselmo, of Little Elm, Texas; Andrew Anselmo of Frisco, Texas; Kate and her husband James Watson, of McKinney, Texas; Lauren and her husband Stephen Schwalb, of Dallas, Texas; and Rachel Anselmo of Prosper, Texas. She is also survived by six beautiful great-grandchildren, Cooper Anselmo, Owen Watson, Eliza Watson, Beckett Anselmo, Hadden Watson and Remy Verma.
Dottie faced many challenges throughout her life, and met every hardship with an inspiring and enduring faith. She never complained, and always exuded grace and joy even in the hardest of times. She enjoyed gardening for many years, and the beauty she cultivated in her gardens was an extension of the beauty of her soul. She was kind, caring, thoughtful, and she will be missed by all.
Visitation will be from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm Thursday, November 21st, at the Sparkman Richardson Funeral Home where Funeral Services will be at 11 am Friday, November 22nd. Interment will follow at Restland Memorial Park.
