Dorothy Louise Simmons

Dorothy Louise Cook Simmons of Richardson, TX passed away on August 29, 2015 at the age of 90. Louise was born February 13, 1925 in Addison, TX. She was preceded in death by her parents Kyle and Mildred Clark Cook, and her loving husband of 66 years Robert Lloyd Simmons.

Louise is survived by her daughter Lynne Flahive and husband Terry; Three grandchildren; Brian Lillis and wife Jennifer, Kevin Flahive and wife Shannon, Jenny Flahive Richey and husband Clay. She had seven great grandchildren, Conor and Seth Lillis, Lorelai and William Flahive, and Jack, Chandler and Nate Richey.

Louise graduated from Plano High School in 1943. She worked for the Richardson Independent School District and the University of Texas at Dallas. After retirement, she and Lloyd loved to travel and play golf. She was a member of First Baptist Church Richardson since 1953. She was active in many church activities, including teaching children’s Sunday school, working with the seniors classes and singing in the Goldenaires Choir. She will be deeply missed.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, September 1, 2015 at Sparkman Richardson Funeral Home 1029 S. Greenville Ave. Richardson, Texas 75801 from 6:00 Pm to 8:00 pm.

A celebration of her life will be held at 10:00 am on Wednesday, September 2, 2015 at Sparkman Richardson Funeral Home.

A private burial will be held at DFW National Cemetery.
