A beloved daughter, granddaughter, sister, niece, cousin and friend, Elizabeth Anne Slovak left this world, at 24, on June 24, 2020. Born in Dallas, Texas on June 26, 1995 to Marvin and Katrina Slovak, Elizabeth grew up in the M Streets neighborhood, where she attended St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic School and Bishop Lynch High School before receiving a Bachelor of Science in Communication Disorders from Stephen F. Austin University. She was currently enrolled in a Masters in Special Education at Texas A&M University.

Elizabeth was engaged to the love of her life Stefan Alexander Crane II. They were to be married on September 5, 2020.

Words do not do justice to Elizabeth’s character because who she was cannot be described. To describe Elizabeth is to describe a feeling; a feeling of genuine love, a feeling of someone caring about you for no reason other than you exist. Her final act of love was to be an organ donor. This kind and compassionate choice will result in lifesaving procedures for more than a dozen people.

Elizabeth’s commitment to others and the organizations to which she belonged was first exemplified in her Girl Scout career when she received the Gold Award for her project to catalog the public art in Dallas for the Dallas Office of Cultural Affairs. She so enjoyed her time as a camper at Camp Longhorn that she continued on as a camp counselor. In college, Elizabeth was a dedicated member of the Delta Zeta Sorority, serving as the Craft and Sisterhood chairs, as well as the Vice President of Programs for Panhellenic. She also served as a Jack Camp Counselor.

Elizabeth was a Speech Language Pathology Assistant and poured tremendous energy into her work. She was pure of heart and loved all children. She had a special propensity for her autistic students with whom she had astonishing success in aiding their development. She loved them and they loved her. Her presence will be sorely missed in the teaching community.

Elizabeth was a natural advocate. Her gift for bringing people together manifested itself regularly with her family, friends, coworkers and students. She planned five steps ahead, taking care of everyone and everything. She will continue to look out for others just like always.

Elizabeth was a life-long member of St. Thomas Aquinas Church. She is preceded in death by her grandfathers, Marvin Slovak, Sr., Dominic Colosimo, grandmother Ella Colosimo, and aunt Jill Hughes. Elizabeth is survived by her loving parents Katrina and Marvin Slovak; brother, Matthew Slovak; grandmother, Joy Slovak; fiancé, Alex Crane; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Elizabeth will be greatly missed. We loved having her on our team at College Nannies & Sitters. The entire team in the office adored Elizabeth as well as every family she worked with. She was always requested back by our families to care for their children. Everyone loved Elizabeth and the children she watched were excited when she was going to be their sitter. Elizabeth was a huge asset to our company and such a wonderful person who was so easy to work with. I know she is looking after everyone now as she was all her life. Such a caring, sweet soul and we love her.
Kind regards, The entire College Nannies & Sitters Team & Families

Katrina, Marvin, Matthew, and Alex: my heart goes out to you all. I am deeply sorry for your loss. Although I never had a chance to meet Elizabeth, seeing her big smile and reading other's sentiments gives me a great idea of who she was - caring, fun, selfless, and kind. May she rest in peace and may her spirit last an eternity.

With our deepest love,
Ryan, Kelly, and Sophia Stockwell

Elizabeth was the sweetest soul. I worked with her at Francesa’s for about two years and she made working there so much fun. She always had a smile on her face and her laugh was infectious. She loved to sing and dance to the Francesca’s playlist when there weren’t customers in the store! She definitely brightened up your day no matter how bad it was going. So many wonderful memories working with her. After we parted ways from Francesca’s she always made sure to keep in touch and would make sure we meet up for brunch or dinner at least 1-2 times a year. She would always text to see how I was doing and to catch up. Elizabeth, you are like no other. You brought happiness and light into everyone you met and left a mark.
To Elizabeth’s family and Fiancé, I am so sorry for your loss and I will continue to keep you and Elizabeth in my thoughts and prayers.

"She is more precious than jewels, and nothing you desire can compare to her." Proverbs 3:15

I didn't know Elizabeth personally but I know her Mother and I learned of her through her stories and pictures and laughter and love. Without knowing her, she has touched me deeply, by her kindness, her generosity, her great capacity to care and to love. Her sudden and early departure from this life has left a void within all of those who were fortunate enough to know her and to be loved by her, and even those such as I, who did not. God of Israel, Precious Lord Jesus, keep Elizabeth with you in your holy glory and heart forever. I will continue to pray for you and remember you, my dear and beautiful girl. Love Sandra
