Emily Ruth Dodson was born on May 8, 1925 in Selma, Alabama to Edward and Olean Ruth. Emily was a proud wife and mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and a lifelong dedicated fan of Alabama’s Crimson Tide!! Emily obtained a Master’s degree from Alabama University and worked in the medical industry.
She is survived by her husband, Bill as well as their three sons, Norman, Kevin and Craig and two daughters, Leslie and Cindy. She leaves behind to cherish her memory, 9 grandchildren; Melanie, Ashlee, Robert, Dara, Maureen, William, Whitney, Danielle and Bradley and 3 great-grandchildren; Michael, Haley, and Caitlyn all of whom are blessed to have had her in their lives.
She is preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Edward Ruth.
bgA Memorial Service will be held on Friday, November 24th at 11:00 am at Sparkman Funeral Home. She will be buried with a private family service at Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery; an honor earned by her beloved husband, Bill.
