Emma Ileana Lopez, age 83, passed away on August 19, 2025, in Dallas, Texas, surrounded by the love of her family. Born on March 11, 1942, in Fajardo, Puerto Rico, to Carlos and Emma Lebron, Emma grew up in a home filled with warmth, tradition, and deep familial bonds—values she carried with her throughout her life.
In 1963, Emma married the love of her life, Arturo Lopez-Torres, beginning a love story that spanned over 62 years. Their marriage was a beautiful example of enduring partnership, built on mutual respect, laughter, and unwavering support. Together, they raised three children— Arturo, Mariemma and Carlos—instilling in them the same love for family and kindness that defined Emma’s life.
Emma was the heart of her home. A devoted homemaker, she created a sanctuary where love was abundant and every visitor felt welcome. Her hands were always busy—sewing, baking, or flipping through the pages of a good book—but her heart was always focused on her family. Emma also had a talent for gardening, even winning many awards bestowed from a senior judge from the Alpha African Violet Society for her beautiful violets.
Her bond with each of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren was so special; her grandchildren, Lauren, Angelica Marie, Samuel, Daniel, and Diego; and great-grandchildren, Archie and Kyler—were her pride and joy. She cherished every moment with them, offering wisdom, comfort, and unconditional love.
Her gentle spirit and compassionate nature touched everyone she met. Emma was known for her generosity, her quiet strength, and the way she made people feel seen and valued.
Emma is preceded in death by her beloved parents, Carlos and Emma Lebron, and her oldest sister, Elida Lebron. She leaves behind her loving husband Arturo, her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, daughters-in-law Jenny and Angela, and son-in-law Thomas—all of whom carry her love in their hearts.
Emma’s legacy is one of love, devotion, and grace. She will be deeply missed, but her spirit will live on in the family she built, the lives she touched, and the memories she leaves behind.
