

Esmeralda, a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on June 25, 2024, at the age of 80. Born on December 17, 1943, Esmeralda was the daughter of Tomas and Paula Ramirez and sister to Tomas (Chivano), Abel, Richard, Alicia, Mary, George, and Janie. She grew up in a home filled with love and laughter, a tradition she continued throughout her life.
In 1967, Esmeralda married the love of her life, Mario Esquivel. Together, they built a life centered around love, faith, and family. Their marriage was a testament to their enduring bond and mutual respect. Esmeralda, a nurturing mother to her three girls, Sonia, Elvira, and Estela, instilled in them the values of kindness, hard work, and resilience. Her grandchildren, whom she loved dearly, were a constant source of joy and pride.
Esmeralda's life was characterized by her unwavering faith, her dedication to her family and friends, and her boundless generosity. She had an incredible ability to make everyone she met feel special and loved. Her warm smile, gentle spirit, and kind heart will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Esmeralda is survived by her children, Sonia (Curt) Goldacker, Elvira (Mike) De La Cruz, Estela (Tim) Lopez; her beloved grandchildren, Adriana, Jordan, Jacob, and Gabriela; her great-grandchildren, Ariana and Mariano; her sibling, Tomas; and many nieces, nephews, godchildren, and dear friends.
Monday July 1st, a visitation will be held at Sparkman Funeral Home in Richardson, Texas from 4:00-8:00 PM. The rosary will be held at 6:00 PM during visitation hours. A celebration of Esmeralda’s life will be held on July 2, 2024, at 9:00 AM at Good Shepherd Catholic Parish in Garland, Texas, immediately followed by a memorial service at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Rowlett, Texas. In lieu of or in addition to flowers, the family asks that you donate to the American Cancer Society in Esmeralda’s honor.
Esmeralda’s legacy of love, compassion, and service will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her. She will be remembered always and missed deeply.
