Evelyn was a devout Christian and lifelong Lutheran. She dedicated much of her life to serving her Lord and others. Her unwavering faith, boundless energy, and loving heart touched everyone she encountered. Those who crossed her path were friends for life.
She was also a beloved wife, devoted mother, cherished grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her kindness, generosity, and deep love for her family were another cornerstone of her life. She loved being with her family and made each of them feel special and loved. She will be dearly missed by all who loved her.
She is survived by her daughters: Deborah(Kirk) Murray of Loveland, Ohio and Susan(Steve) Marcy of Georgetown, Texas; Grandchildren: Bryan(Jamie) Murray, Amanda(Matt) Hoffman, Charlie Rathgeber (Chelcee Hall), Brady(Katherine) Rathgeber, Allie(Colton) Austin, Josh(Danielle) Marcy, Andrew Marcy, and Jake(Sallie) Marcy; Great Grandchildren: Savannah and Sawyer Hoffman, Asher and Bennett Austin, Eleanor Rathgeber, Parker Marcy, and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Gene Rummel.
Visitation is at Sparkman Funeral Home at 1029 South Greenville Richardson, Texas, on May 6, 2025, from 5-7:00 pm.
Family Burial is at DFW National Cemetery on May 7, 2025, at 11:30 am.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations may be made in honor of Evelyn to Good Shepherd Lutheran Church Building Fund, Cedar Park, Texas, or The National Kidney Foundation.
There will be a Memorial Service to celebrate Evelyn’s life at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 700 W. Whitestone Blvd., Cedar Park, Texas, on May 9, 2025, at 10:00 am.
