Felix Tom Rotello, Sr., 83, of Dallas, passed away on Friday, May 6, 2022. He was born on December 27, 1938 to the late Tom & Marie (Fachorn) Rotello. Felix was born and raised in Dallas, in a family with strong Italian roots. He was a 1956 graduate of Jesuit High School, where he excelled in baseball and football. He was so talented that he was offered to play for the New York Giants baseball team at the age of 16, which he kindly declined and went on to attend the University of Dallas. It was there Felix met the love of his life, Gloria Catchings, and they married in 1960.
Felix proudly served our country in the United States Army. He spent his entire career with NAPA Auto Parts, where he began as a parts counterman in 1960 and retired in 1994, where he spent his last 15 years as a store owner.
Felix was a huge Dallas sports fan. He loved the Dallas Mavericks, Texas Rangers, Dallas Stars, and Dallas Cowboys. He enjoyed watching and playing golf over the years. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Richardson. More than anything, Felix cherished his family. The time spent with his grandchildren was his favorite. Felix had a larger than life personality who never met a stranger. He enjoyed bringing joy to others by making them laugh. Felix was truly a wonderful man who placed a big footprint on this earth and leaves behind a lasting legacy of laughter, joy, and love on all who loved and knew him.
Felix is survived by his devoted wife of 61 years, Gloria Rotello; two sons and daughters-in-law, Felix & Denise Rotello, Jr. of Garland and Paul & Angela Rotello of Frisco; three grandchildren, Radd (Tawny) Rotello of Celina, Marie (Timo) Fritzsche of Germany, and Jackson Rotello of Frisco; and three great-grandchildren, William, Ava, and Lukas.
