Fuad Rofail Elias, of Richardson, Texas passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on September 21 at the age of 87. He was born September 13, 1931 in Sudan, Khartoum. He graduated from high school where he first had an opportunity to show his strength in mathematics. This led him to King Farouk College for one year which resulted in him being recruited as an accountant due to his gift of working with numbers.
He was married to the love of his life, Edis Thabit Garas on September 12, 1957. After their marriage, he began working for GSI in Saudia Arabia. Due to his enormous skills, he was quickly promoted to the Tax Department of Halliburton where he served as a tax expert on behalf of the company all over the world. This promotion resulted in a move for the family from Cairo, Egypt to Dallas, Texas. Mr. Elias worked at Halliburton for an amazing thirty-one years until his well-deserved retirement.
He was survived by his devoted wife of 61 years, Edis Thabit Garas; sons, Emad Fuad Elias, Husam Fuad Elias; daughter Lamya Carver; his grandson Anthony Philip Carver and beloved son-in-law, Philip Carver.
He was also survived by his brother, Farid Rofail Elias and pre-deceased by his sister, Alice Rofail Elias and brother, Wahid Rofail Elias.
Services will be held at Sparkman Funeral Home in Richardson on September 26 at 10:00 A.M. followed by grave side services at Restland Cemetery. The family invites friends to return to Sparkman Funeral Home for a reception to celebrate the life of Fuad Rofail Elias.
