Gerald Wayne Hellner, 69, of Garland, passed away Wednesday, September 12, 2012 in an Irving hospice facility. As were his wishes, cremation will be followed by a memorial service, Sunday, September 16 in the Sparkman Funeral Home Chapel of Richardson.
Gerald “Bubba”was born July 31, 1943 in Alvin, Texas to Eddie Paul Hellner and Willa Mae Andrews Hellner. He spent most of his childhood years in Malakoff and Dallas. He served three years in the United State Army. Gerald married Beverly Kiker February 17, 1964. He worked most of his life as a self-employed carpenter. He was an avid Dallas Cowboy football fan and outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting.
Mr. Hellner was preceded in death by one brother, Rick Hellner.
Survivors include his wife Beverly Hellner of Garland; one son, Robert Wayne Hellner and his wife Janett of Rowlett; two daughters, Mary Anne Hellner-DeRose of Wiley and Amy Hellner of Dallas; one brother, Ronnie Hellner and his wife Judy of Haltom City; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
