My deepest sympathy to the families of Beckie, Debbie and Paul on the loss of your mother and grand mother Hazel, my dad’s sister.
Aunt Hazel was always kind and generous. I have wonderful memories of her, especially during my youth of family vacations and her visits in the summer to the Peace country.
Evan as a young adult I remember Aunt Hazel would still send a box of Christmas gifts to mom & dad’s to all the relatives in the Peace country long after the families of the Henderson clan got more distant, larger and dispersed.
Annette and I were particularly fortunate to have had Aunt Hazel and uncle Dick as guests (as well as many other distant relatives) at our wedding twenty years ago this year.
When Hazel fell serious ill only weeks ago, it impacted my mom, Rose, particularly hard as she thought of Hazel as a true sister.
To the grandchildren, great grandchildren and other descendants of Hazel, I hope you’ll remember her legacy of generosity and grace. Don’t let the chain of love end with you.
Our thoughts are with you,
John Douglas, Annette Marie, Brendan Alexander, Deston Keith and Payton Matthew.
