Born October 21, 1928 in Belton, TX and went to be with his Lord and Savior on October 03, 2017, surrounded by his family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jess and Helyn Massey, his beloved wife of 61.5 years, Alice, and his sister, Mary Ellen, and brother, Robert Jesse. He is survived by three sons and their wives, Bill and Susan, Tom and Suzanne and Dan and Diane; three grandchildren; two great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews along with their spouses and children.
Jim graduated from Jarrell High School and the University of Texas in Austin majoring in petroleum engineering and spent 40 years in the oil and gas business. He was a Registered Professional Engineer since 1965.
Jim was a lifetime Christian and a member of St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church of Richardson, TX. since 1959. He had a strong love of family, was a loving and caring husband, father, grandfather and a great grandfather (PawPaw). He was very active in the Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus and its Color Corps and Greater Dallas Area 10 Special Olympics.
Visitation will be at Sparkman Funeral Home at 1029 S. Greenville Ave. in Richardson, TX from 7 to 9 PM with Rosary to be at 8 PM on Wednesday October 18th. Mass of Christian Burial will be at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church at 720 S. Floyd Road in Richardson, TX at 10 AM on Thursday October the 19th. The Women’s Guild will host a Reception to follow immediately after Mass in the Parish Center. Internment will follow at Calvary Hill Mausoleum at 3235 Lombardy Lane in Dallas, TX at 1:30 PM.
