James Lee Whatley, 73, died Saturday 5 November 2011 peacefully at home with his family present. Services will be at 1:30pm Wednesday 9 November 2011 at Sparkman Funeral Home, 1029 South Greenville Avenue, Richardson, TX 75081, (972) 238- 7855. Viewing will be Tuesday 8 November 2011 between 6:00 and 8:00pm at Sparkman Funeral Home. Burial will be at Restland Cemetery.
Jim Whatley was born in Pampa, Tx in 1938 to Vanna Lee Bradley and Elzie Whatley. He lived in Pampa ,Lela, Amarillo, Dallas, and Garland, TX. He retired as Director of Information Systems, Eljer Industries.
Survivors include the love of his life Caroline Whatley, son Brett Whatley and wife Sara, daughter Dana Harris, sister Vanalle Daberry, stepson Jason Johnson, stepdaughter Shelly Dixon and husband Ronnie; nine grandchildren Josh, Kay, Dustin, Cameron, Kevin, Claire, Ronnie, Brittany, and Katherine; and one great grand-child Zach.
