He was born in Tampa, Florida on November 21, 1960 to James A. and Lillian Mackiewicz Dean.
After graduating from Brandon High School, he went on to earn Bachelors and Masters degrees in Electrical Engineering from the University of South Florida.
He was married on October 6, 2001 to Kay, the absolute love of his life.
.
Jeff had a career as an Electrical Engineer specializing in radio frequency, microwaves, and semi- conductors. His contributions can be found in telecom systems, computers, consumer electronics, satellites and many other items. Some of the companies he worked for include Texas Instruments, Hughes Aircraft and Lockheed Martin.
Kay and his girls were the center of his universe and his favorite time was that which he spent with them and traveling as a family to Hawaii, Sedona, Jamaica, Paris and a few day trips just to do things together as a family. Much of his time though was spent taking the girls to swimming, dance, and father daughter campouts; Beth to basketball or tennis, and Kate to volleyball or crew where Jeff volunteered as a team parent.
Jeff and Kay enjoyed morning walks and occasionally slipping away without the girls for a quiet day trip. Of course when his schedule allowed he enjoyed weekly lunches with his mother, Lillian.
Jeff is survived by his wife Althea Kay Jarrett, his children Kathrine (Kate) Ava Jarrett-Dean, Elizabeth (Beth) Grace Jarrett-Dean, his mother Lillian Dean, brother Ken Dean (Melanie), and sister Mary Dean.
He was predeceased by his Father James Dean and his Mother-In-Law Greta Jarrett.
Jeff's services will be held Wednesday October 26, 2022 at Mary Immaculate Catholic Church 2800 Valwood Parkway, Farmers Branch, Texas. The Rosary is scheduled for 10:00 am and the Memorial Service will begin at 11:00 am.
In lieu of flowers, the family will appreciate donations to the Ursuline Academy of Dallas Scholarship Fund at the link below:
