He was born in Dallas, Texas on September 6th 1953 to Melvin F. Huse and Frances Viola Huse. He had a younger brother, Thomas William Huse. He grew up in Oak Cliff Texas where he attended Grace Lutheran Elementary School and later moved to Richardson Texas where he attended and graduated from JJ Pearce High school in 1971. He went on to attend Marshall University on a track scholarship and later, Kent University in Canterbury England and SMU.
Jerry was a multifaceted individual, he loved sports, played golf, was an avid reader and loved to share his views on politics, history and religion with anyone who was up for a little verbal sparring. He enjoyed music of almost all genres. He loved to travel and shared that love with his family which culminated in multiple family road trips. But the things he loved most were, God and his family. He was a previous member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Dallas where he served in a variety of positions including President of the congregation as well as a board member of Dallas Lutheran School for many years. He recently transferred his membership to Messiah Lutheran Church of Plano.
Jerry was preceded in death by his Mom, Viola Huse and by his brother Tom Huse.
He is survived by his spouse of 38 years Mrs. Pepe Huse, his father Melvin F. Huse, his son Nathan Huse and spouse Hannah Huse of Tempe Arizona, son Brooks Huse and spouse Nichole Huse of Spring Texas and son William Huse of Los Angeles California, his five grandchildren Micah, Tessa and Jonah Huse of Tempe Arizona, Connor Huse of Tulsa Oklahoma and Sawyer Huse of Spring Texas, Sister in Law Karlie Blackwell and spouse Dale Blackwell and Sister In Law Terre McPhail all of Alabama as well as Aunts, Uncles and many cousins.
A Memorial Service to “Celebrate Jerry Home” followed by an interment and luncheon will be held:
