Joan Kemendo Mayo from Richardson, Texas passed away peacefully on February 23, 2012 after a brief illness. Joan was born on January 26, 1934 in Dallas, Texas. She is a graduate of Ursuline Academy of Dallas and Southern Methodist University. She is preceded in death by her parents, John Kemendo and Mildred Tallant, a sister, Margaret Lynch, and her daughter Susan Mayo. Joan is survived by her brother John Kemendo, Jr and wife Tony, her son Mike Mayo and wife Marsha, daughter Catherine Cargile and husband Keith, daughters, Cynthia Mayo and Diane Mayo. She is also survived by her nephews, Patrick Lynch, Mark Lynch and Johnny Kemendo III, one niece, Gay Reece, four grandchildren, Kyle, Kelley, Kacey Cargile and Cadey Mayo Charfen, two great grandchildren, Reagan and Kennedy Charfen. Joan (Memaw by her grandchildren) was always full of life, had a great sense of humor, was devoted to her children, and was loved by all her friends. She was a devout Catholic and a member of St. Paul the Apostle Church in Richardson. She enjoyed her bible study and book club groups. As per her request, in lieu of flowers she would ask that you make a donation to the Richardson YMCA or Network Richardson. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, February 27, 2012 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Paul the Apostle Church, 720 S. Floyd Rd. Richardson, Texas 75080. Immediately following there will be a celebration of life reception at the Sparkman Funeral Home, 1029 S. Greenville Ave, Richardson, Texas 75081
