Johnie Bee Scott, 82, was called home on Tuesday, May 20th, 2025, in Decatur, Georgia. He was born on a farm and delivered by a midwife on August 2, 1942, in Crockett, Texas, to proud parents Daisy Pearl Tate, a loving homemaker, and Johnie Scott, a farmer by trade.
Johnie Bee Scott received his education through the Big Spring school district, then entered the U.S Army during the Cuban Missile Embargo on September 28, 1961. Johnie served as PFC before exiting on September 27, 1963, with an Honorable character of service. Johnie attended Howard Jr College from 1963-1964 to become an EMT medical technician, then in 1975 completed basic welding before becoming a welder for 10 years. His passion as a business owner far exceeded his welding and medical career. Johnie Scott was the proud Owner of “Just Us Cleaning Service” for 25 years, earning him the reputation of the kind man “Mr. Johnie” who was loved by his friends, neighbors, and community.
Johnie was a family man and loving husband, married in 2008 to Irma Garcia Scott, happily married for 17 years. He was also a socially active man who was deeply involved in his community. When he wasn’t upholding his self-appointed, honorary neighborhood watch duties, he was on the golf course wearing a color that you could not miss while sporting the latest fashion. Johnie had a heart of gold and will be deeply missed by all who ever encountered his smile and wonderful “isms”.
Johnie Bee Scott is survived by his wife Irma Garcia of Duluth Georgia, brother Eddie Scott of California, his 3 daughters Arletha Brown of Dallas, Tx, Benita Walton of Irving, Tx and Brandi Scott Singleton of Frisco, Tx, 3 sons Johnnie Wright of San Antonio, Tx, Timothy Scott of Ft. Worth, Tx and Kenith Scott. Johnie also has a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, as well as cousins whom he loved dearly.
Johnie is preceded in death by his Parents, Daisy Wright and Johnie Scott, his eldest brothers George Richardson, Thearl “Jay” Kinnard Jr, and sister Nancy Wright.
The family would like to give a special thank you to Robert & Melinda Pruitt for their unwavering love and friendship.
