Dallas, Texas — Kathryn Lynita Lightfoot passed away peacefully in her sleep on Monday the 16th of March with her son Rob by her side.

Born in 1932 in St. Louis, Oklahoma to Delmar and Florence Fillman, Kathryn received a Masters degree in Education from East Central University in Ada, Oklahoma and later taught high school senior English in Premont, Tx.

On April 23rd, 1965, Kathryn married the love of her life, Marshall K. Lightfoot, and they settled in the Dallas neighborhood of Lake Highlands where they were members of Shiloh Terrace Baptist church. In 1972, Kathryn went to work as an Executive Secretary at Westinghouse Air Brake and later as an Executive Secretary at American Standard prior to her retirement in 1997. Kathryn and Marshall enjoyed having family for fun weekends, fishing, boating and fish fries at their lake house at Lake Texhoma, and exchanging laughter and jokes over weekend card games with their friends. Kathryn is preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, her parents, siblings JC, Tony, Bill and Barbara Sue Davis, son David Lightfoot, and grandchildren Lewis and Elizabeth Lightfoot.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Katie Lightfoot of Dallas, Marshall K. Lightfoot III (and wife Cynthia) of Rockwall, Alyson Cobb (and husband Mark) of Dallas and Rob Riley (and wife, Annie) of Dallas, joined by eight grandchildren, six great grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren, and extended family and friends.

A memorial service will be planned through Sparkman Dignity Funeral Home at 1029 Greenville Ave., Richardson, Texas with Dr. Dennis Hochgraber officiating. The date is to be determined due to the current ban of large gatherings.
