

He is survived by his loving wife Catherine (Cathy), father David Sangren of Harrison, Arkansas, sister Susan Sangren of Harrison, Arkansas, sister Kathy Sparkes and husband Mike of Baytown, Texas, brother Larry Sangren of Garland, Texas, nephew Brent Sparkes and wife Kristine, niece Amy Perkins and husband David, nephew Ross Sparkes and wife Emma, niece Katie Sparkes and niece Lauren Sparkes. Great-nieces Paisley Sparkes, Liv Sparkes, Millie Sparkes, great-nephews Pierce Perkins, Hudson Sparkes and Knox Sparkes.
His mother Mary Jean preceded him in death in November, 2020.
Ken graduated from the University of Arkansas with a degree in Electrical Engineering. He completed his Master’s Degree in Engineering at Southern Methodist University. He had a lengthy career at E-Systems / Raytheon Technologies, retiring at the age of 40. Ken thoroughly enjoyed working and chose to continue his career as a consultant working with Foremost Communications Incorporated (Telecommunications).
Ken was an extremely devoted husband. He was a kind-hearted, generous man who never hesitated to help others. Ken was extremely intelligent and an amazing problem-solver. He loved household projects and repairs and truly enjoyed repairing anything for others. Ken deeply loved his family and friends.
Ken had a passion for tennis and played competitively most of his adult life. He was a member of the Royal Oaks Tennis Club, the Dallas Tennis Association and most recently the United States Tennis Association (USTA) League. Ken served as the Captain of his USTA M4.5 team for the past several years. He loved this role, especially more recently, since it allowed him to stay involved with his team.
Ken also enjoyed running and boating and loved sharing these activities with family and friends. He always looked forward to the annual family Labor Day visits!
The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses, and staff at UT Southwestern Medical Center for their excellent care and kindness, especially Dr. Ryan and his nurse, Sally. Dr. Homsi and his nurse, Angelica, and Dr. Z. Wardak. A heartfelt thank you to the team at Methodist Richardson Medical Center for the gentleness and care provided in the final hours. Their genuine care and kindness will always be remembered.
