

A celebration of life for Karen “Kerry” Landguth, 75, of Richardson, Texas, who passed away on Sunday, February 8, 2015, will be held on Saturday, February 28, 2015 at 10am in the chapel of Sparkman Richardson Funeral Home. Robert Stolte will help celebrate Kerry’s life along with family and friends.
Kerry grew up in Anamosa and Clinton, Iowa and moved to Texas in 1961 after marrying the love of her life, Gary Landguth. They had two children, John and Shauna, and made their life in Richardson, Texas. Kerry worked for Richland College for 40 years in the admissions office and was very instrumental in the lives of countless students’ educational studies. She loved working at Richland College and she was passionate about helping people make their lives better. She was gourmet cook who could go to a restaurant, and then come home and recreate what she had ordered. She was known at her work and her husband’s work for her cakes and cookies, whenever there was a birthday, everyone was happy. She loved her grandchildren, Christopher, Noah, and Heather. Family was very important to Kerry and she made everyone feel loved by her generosity. She had a very creative spirit as evidenced by her cooking, sewing, and painting. She will be greatly missed by all who had the honor of knowing her.
She was preceded in death by her father, John Koppenhaver.
She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Gary Landguth; two children: son, John Landguth and daughter, Shauna Landguth; mother: Nelda Koppenhaver; brother: Bud Koppenhaver; two sisters: Karmen Ketelsen and Kathleen Clark; three grandchildren; Christopher Landguth, Noah Landguth, and Heather Johnson Steichen.
