L. Eugene (Gene) Frazier, passed away at the age of 78, in Dallas, Texas on October 19, 2024. He was born in Lewistown, PA, to Luther E. and Marsiella J. Frazier, graduated from Chief Logan High School and received his engineering degree from Tri-State College.
Gene’s early childhood memories included learning to play the piano and his mother helping him and his brother with their homework. When they asked her for the answer, she would purposely give them the wrong answers so they would learn to do the work or find the answers themselves. He enjoyed spending time with his family and doing different activities. Some of these included flying single engine planes with his Uncle Ellsworth, hunting with his dad, and attending Pittsburgh Steelers games with his brother.
Gene moved to Hartville, Ohio and had a hobby farm in which he and his family grew specialty vegetables that were sent to regional markets. It was farming where he taught his girls the value and importance of hard work. Gene was a patriot and engineer; in which he spent his career working for several companies on systems that helped to protect our country. Later in life he became an avid studier of the Bible and part of a wonderful church community in Williamsburg, VA. He enjoyed different activities such as golf, bowling, billiards, playing the piano, reading about history, his morning walks, dog sitting and his morning coffee conversations.
Gene was always willing to help and be there for his friends and family in times of need, even hopping a plane every now and then to be a support system. He couldn’t stay idle and was always working to make a difference which after retirement included sitting on the board of the condominium association where he and Randi live.
Gene was a compass to friends and colleagues. Known for his listening and problem solving skills, he became the go-to person to analyze, carefully consider options, and discuss the best route to proceed.
He touched so many lives throughout his career and life. His family, friends and colleagues have been left with a hole in their hearts. He will be interned at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Canton, Ohio near his parents.
Gene was preceded in death by his Parents; Luther E. and Marsiella J. (Wolfgang) Frazier and brother Kenneth L. Frazier.
