

She was born on April 4, 1957 in Durant, OK to Dorothy McGuire and Earl Glenn. Laurel was raised in Palestine, TX by her mother and father, William Jefferson ‘Foots’ Thompson. After high school, she joined the US Navy and served from 1975 – 1977 at US NAS Pt. Mugu, CA.
She then returned to Texas, married and gave birth to her firstborn child, Richard Anderson Lindsey III, in 1980.
In 1987, she married Brian Stephen Tooley, of Shreveport, LA and the couple raised their 3 children in Wills Point and Richardson, TX.
Laurel obtained her Associates degree from El Centro College Dept. of Nursing and became a Registered Nurse in 2006. After serving patients in hospital for 6 years, she went into Home Health nursing until retirement in 2022. Laurel was a highly skilled nurse who went above and beyond in caring for her patients.
Laurel enjoyed gardening, history and being with her animals. She was fun, loving, smart, strong-willed, loved her family, God, Texas and the USA.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her brother Tom Malloy and her sister Lisa Sloan.
She is survived by: her husband, Brian Tooley of Greenville, TX, her son, Trey Lindsey and wife Thryce of Celina, TX, grandchildren Avery Charlotte of Littleton, CO, Zeke Daniel of Harrisville, WV, Tanner Lynn and Zack Brian of Celina, TX; her daughters Camille Alisa Tooley of Plano, TX and Devin Michelle Tooley of Fredericksburg, VA. She is also survived by her brother, David Glenn of Longview, TX, her niece, Sandra Lea and husband Ted of Conroe, TX, great-nephews Ryker and Kason and other nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family requested any donations be made to the Greenville Humane Society.
