Lynn, as she was known to family and friends, was born in Pittsburg, Texas, on July 29, 1921, to George Bailey and Bird Bradshaw. She lived in Pittsburg until 1940 when she moved to Dallas, Texas and entered Baylor Nursing School. She graduated as a Registered Nurse in 1943, and then married her beloved husband, Roy S. Baxley, on June 16, 1944. Lynn worked as a nurse, both on the floor and as a private duty nurse, at Baylor Hospital for a number of years, until she decided to become a full-time mom and to care for her two children, Barbara and Jim.
Lynn is survived by her husband, Roy, of 66 years, her daughter Barbara and her husband, Brown Adkins III, her son Jim Baxley and his wife Debbie; eight grand children, David Baxley and wife Amy, Matthew Baxley and wife Erin, Elizabeth, Joel, Steven and Hannah Baxley, and Brown Adkins IV, as well as great-granddaughter, Briana Oliver. She will be missed by all of us.
The family requests that memorials be made to Criswell College in Dallas, Texas, or Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Ft. Worth.
