Leonard is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Mary Elizabeth, his daughter Janet Anders and grandson Robert Zachary Anders. He is preceded in death by his parents and his son William Bruce Chandler.
Leonard was born on August 16, 1927 in Syracuse, N.Y. to Alice Jean Chandler and William John Chandler. He graduated from Highland Park High School and then entered the U.S. Navy in 1945 serving WWII and the Korean War. He was Honorably Discharged in 1953. He married Mary Elizabeth Doggett at Highland Park Methodist Church on October 4, 1952. Leonard worked various jobs including City Bus Driver, Taxi Driver and Limousine Driver before his 27 year career with the Dallas Market Center.
He was an active member of The American Legion Post 368 in Richardson, Tx.
A funeral reception is scheduled for 1:00pm Wednesday April 15, 2015 at Sparkman Richardson to be followed by a graveside service at 2pm at Restland Cemetery. Pastor Kerry Smith of Greenland Hills UMC will officiate the ceremony. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Leonard’s life.
