Lucille Sorce Donaldson
December 13, 1928 – October 27, 2018
Lucille S. Donaldson, age 89 of Plano, Texas, passed away on October 27, 2018. She was born in Memphis, Tennessee on December 13, 1928. Lucille graduated from Memphis Tech High School. She married J.B Donaldson on August 5, 1946, and the two had four children. Lucille was always known to be one of the most selfless people you could ever meet, she had a servant’s heart for sure , using her time to help with grand kids, volunteering , or being caregiver to any one that was in need, definitely a generous soul. She was also known as an incredible cook, having “Spaghetti Sundays” every Sunday with her family, a reflection on her strong Italian heritage. She loved spending time with her cats. Her children would say she was the best mother ever; she will leave a definite void in their lives especially those that were committed to her care these last few years.
Lucille is survived by her children: Mike Donaldson and his wife Cynthia of League City, TX, Miles Donaldson of Plano, TX, Scott Donaldson of Dallas, TX and Terry Schumacher and her Husband Mike of McKinney, TX. She is also survived by her Grandchildren: David Donaldson, Jenifer Starnes, Natalie Leddy and her husband Aaron, and Emily Schumacher, as well as her Great Grandchildren Stryker, Slade, Hunter, and Tom. She is also survived by two ex- daughter in laws who cared for and loved her deeply, Sarah Donaldson and Vicki Donaldson Joswiak.
The family would like to extend heartfelt appreciation to the care she received from the numerous caregivers and doctors that lovingly took care of her.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Lucille’s name to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital in Memphis Tennessee. A Graveside service will be held on Friday, November 9th, 2018 at Restland Cemetery in Dallas, Texas at 1pm, for immediate family only.
One more quick note for all that will appreciate this - “The Wizard has left the building”.
