Marie E. (Betsey") Dudley, 83, of Plano, Texas, passed away September 24, 2022. Born in Pittsfield, MA, on October 26, 1938, she was a devout Catholic, a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She married Joseph Harold (Joe) Dudley on July 18, 1964.
Betsey received her Bachelor's Degree from the University of Massachusetts in 1960, her Master's Degree in Education from North Adams State College in 1962, and was a teacher and tutor for several years, both in Pittsfield, MA, and Allen, TX. She and Joe were members of the Canyon Creek Country Club for 40 years and, for many years, Betsey was also an active alumna of Chi Omega. She was a communicant of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Richardson where she and Joe were volunteers with the Meals on Wheels Program. Volunteering was a passion for Betsey, having also served more than 15 years between Medical City Plano and Scottish Rite Hospital in Dallas.
She is survived by her three loving daughters - Karen Craig of Plano, TX, Ann King of Dallas, TX, and Gail Keller of Arlington, TX; six amazing grandchildren - Anastasia Kadado of The Colony, TX, Abigail Craig of Ft. Worth, TX, Glenn Keller and Natalie Keller, both of Arlington, TX, and Kyle King and Jack King, both of Flower Mound, TX; and one adoring great-granddaughter, Grace Synychak of Ft. Worth, TX. Betsey also leaves several special nieces and nephews.
Betsey was preceded in death by her parents Edward W. and Anastasia (Meehan) McCormick of Pittsfield, MA, her sister Sheila Coy of Golden Valley, MN, her husband Joe, and her son John E. Dudley of Princeton, NJ.
Funeral Mass is to be held on Thursday, October 13, 2022, at 10:30 a.m. in the Chapel at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 600 S. Jupiter Road, Richardson, Texas 75081. Rosary immediately prior beginning at 10:00 a.m. and Columbarium Interment immediately following Mass for those who wish to attend.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or Texas Scottish Rite Hospital.
