Mary Catherine Higgins

Mary Catherine Higgins passed away on December 13, 2016 in Richardson, TX surrounded by loved ones after a brief illness. She was born on July 20, 1932 in Bellefontaine, OH to Charles and Mary Bray.

Mary grew up in a small town in Ohio with her many cousins, aunts and uncles. She enjoyed her time in Ohio but, she really loved living in Richardson, TX. She and Bill met and were married in Ohio in 1956 and moved to Texas about 5 years later. Within a few years they moved to their long-time home on Dumont Drive.

Mary enjoyed being a very active member of St. Paul the Apostle Church since its earliest days and through all its growth and changes. In the Dumont neighborhood and through St. Paul the Apostle Church she had many life-long friendships.

Mary was active in the St. Paul Women's Guild, the Catholic Daughters of the Americas, and other church related volunteering. She loved growing flowers, giving flowers, and sending cards to her friends when they were sick, in a nursing home, or just in need of a friend and a smile.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Mary Bray; and her brother Louis Bray. She is survived by her husband, William T. Higgins; children, Timothy, Kathleen (Katie), and Michael; grandchildren, Ashley, Alan, Melissa, Brandon, and Shannon; great grandchildren, Emma, Ali, Kayden, and Connor.

Mary loved seeing and keeping up with her grandchildren, great- grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other extended family in at least ten states.

Rosary will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, January 14, 2016 with a Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church 720 S. Floyd Rd. Richardson, Texas 75080.
