

Mary Jane was born December 14, 1948 in Fort Smith, AR to James W. and Cleo Avlos Glidewell. Her maternal grandparents were Mary and Theo Avlos. Theo was included in the Annals of Arkansas as a successful businessman.
She graduated from Southside Senior High in Fort Smith, AR and attended the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville. She won an award to study French in Evian and Versailles, France. She married Phillip E. Snow in 1969 and moved to Richardson, TX. Children Christopher P. Snow and Mimi J. Snow were born in Richardson. They joined the First United Methodist Church of Richardson in 1980. Mimi and Christopher were professional models and actors for Kim Dawson Agency for ten years with Mary Jane as their manager. As well as being homeroom mom for both kids every year, Mary Jane always cooked a hot dinner every night.
Mary Jane is survived by her children who were the most important part of her life and she will always love them very much. Mimi graduated from Berkner High School and Southern Methodist University and is currently a television editor in Los Angeles, CA. Christopher graduated from Alexander School in Richardson and ITT Tech. He is currently a team lead for AT&T in Plano, TX. He lives in Richardson with his wife, Pamela, and their daughters Kaylee S.Tyler, and Tiffany M. Snow.
Mary Jane loved to take photos, cook, go boating, water ski, swim, and decorate.
Mary Jane was very active in the North Dallas volunteer world. She was president of the Richardson Symphony Board of Directors as well as Chairman of the Board. For two terms, she also served as president of the Richardson Symphony League. She was instrumental in reviving the debutante presentation ball for the league while she was ball chairman.
Mary Jane was an active board member of the Junior League of Richardson, holding several positions over the years and being awarded the Silver Star Award. She was a graduate of Leadership Richardson Class V, member of Richardson Rotary, the Richardson Wildflower Festival Steering Committee, Richardson Chamber of Commerce, and University of Texas at Dallas Council Fundraisers. She also was on Richardson Art Association Steering Committee Fundraiser Run as well as the RSO Steering Committee Fundraiser Run. She participated in the Methodist Christmas play.
She was a volunteer for creating special interest groups for Canyon Creek Country Club. For seven years she was on the Jon Williams Cotillion Board. She was also active in political campaigns for state, mayoral, and city elections.
While a single mom for seven years, Mary Jane was a restaurant manager, office manager, then joined Ebby Halliday Realtors. She earned the Diamond Circle Award her first year and was nominated for Rookie of the Year. During this time, Mary Jane began writing a weekly social/business column, Tidbits, for the Dallas Morning News and Richardson news for five years. Because of her love of photography, she took her own photos for the column, then advanced to a position in staff photography.
After marrying Shaun Pike in 1999, Mary Jane started a commercial paint contracting business, MJS Enterprises and helped raise Shaun’s three children, Allison, Casey, and Trey Pike.
She is survived by sister, Paula J. Glidewell of Greenwood, AR, brother, Jim and wife Carol of Fort Smith, AR, nephew Jamie and wife Michelle of Fort Smith, nephew Nick and wife Ellie of Fort Smith, and niece Mimi Elaine of Fort Smith. Many relatives and friends live in Fort Smith, AR.
Mary Jane loved to spend time with her granddaughters. Special time with Tiffany included teaching her to cook and play makeup and jewelry and take photos. She was always there to support Kaylee whether it was soccer, band, or choir events.
Mimi and Mary Jane took a trip to Rome, Italy and Athens, Greece which was a very special time for them. Mary Jane was blessed to be able to take communion at St. Peter’s Basilica in the Vatican. Mimi and her mom spent many hours sitting on a rug on the kitchen floor talking about life. When Mimi was performing for choir or as Berkner mascot or waterskiing, mom was always there taking pictures. She also took pictures of Mimi’s name as editor on TV shows.
Mary Jane and Christopher always had a special bond. She loved to spend time with Christopher when he was waterskiing, swimming, playing soccer or basketball. It was a joy to be able to work with him in their business or go to lunch or dinner together. Mary Jane’s favorite thing to do in life was to spend time with Mimi, Christopher, Tiffany, and Kaylee.
Visitation will be on Feb. 8th, from 3-5 pm at Sparkman Funeral Home.
Funeral Service will be on Feb. 9th at 3:00 pm, at First United Methodist Church of Richardson, 503 N. Central Expwy.
Mausoleum Service will be held following the funeral service at Restland’s Whispering Waters Mausoleum.
A reception will be held at Mary Jane’s home following the services.
Donations may be made to First United Methodist Church of Richardson.
