Mary "Bib" Elizabeth Jameson Woodley

Mary Elizabeth "BIB" Jameson Woodley (formerly of Terrell) passed away on November 6, 2010 in Richardson at the age of 96. Elizabeth was born August 1, 1914 in Loraine, Texas to Rev. Charles E. Jameson and Hunter Goodwin Jameson. Elizabeth graduated from West Texas State University in Canyon, Texas in 1935. She married Noel Woodley in Shamrock, Texas on August 9, 1936. For many years she owned and operated the Elizabeth Woodley Insurance Agency in Muleshoe, Texas. In 1968 she wrote the programs and funding grants for nine counties in the Texas Panhandle and became the first Executive Director of Central Plains Community Mental Health/Mental Retardation Center located in Plainview, Texas. In 1971 she moved to Terrell, Texas where Mr. Woodley became Assistant Superintendant of Terrell State Hospital. They lived on grounds until his retirement in 1980 and continued to make their home in Terrell. Elizabeth was a life long member of the First United Methodist Church and over her lifetime served her church in many ways as a Sunday school Teacher, Communion Steward, Organist, and Choir Director. Noel and Bib loved to fish, play golf, and travel, visiting some 30 countries prior to his death in 1998. She moved to Richardson, Texas to be with her daughter in 2004. Elizabeth was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years Noel Woodley, her parents the Rev. and Mrs. C. E. Jameson, brothers James Alfred (Ox) Jameson and Dr. Jamie S. Jameson, and sister Ellen Ann Clements. She is survived by her daughter Ann Hanks, granddaughter Noelle Hanks Benson and husband Terry, grandson Miles M. Hanks and wife Amy, six great-grandchildren Ashley, Colin, Mackenna, Grace, Sierra, and Sable as well as two nieces, many great nieces and nephews and a host of cousins and friends.

Memorial services will be held at First United Methodist Church Richardson in the Chapel on Tuesday, November 9, 2010 at 2:00 pm.
