Monica was born June 28, 1927 in Manchester, England to Edward and Mary Jones. She came to the United States in 1953 to marry George R. Savage, a USAF pilot who swept her off her feet while stationed in England.
Known by the name Fran to family and friends, she will be remembered for her passion for travel; her sense of style; her love of cooking; her talent as an artist; her love of a bargain; her green thumb; her love of animals; her generosity and thoughtfulness, and her courage. Her strong will helped her weather many challenges early in life. In the words of her granddaughter, Laura, her legacy is the group of women she left behind, her daughters and granddaughters, who are stronger, lovelier, and better cooks because of her. She inspires us to live a more fulfilling and interesting life.
