Born on July 2, 1940, in Dayton, OH, to Joseph L. and Margaret M. Treon, he was raised as the fifth child in their family of six. After his graduation from Chaminade High School in 1958, Pat attended Loras College in Dubuque, Iowa. He then joined the Army, where he served four years, during which time he rose up the ranks. Pat was a mechanical genius, and the Army recognized and utilized his skills accordingly. He was on active duty during the Berlin Wall Crisis, placed in an “on call” status to be ready to move at a moment’s notice whenever and wherever his skills were needed.
When his Army service was completed, Pat returned to Dayton and began his career as an accomplished salesman, sales manager, national sales manager, and sales trainer for a number of different businesses associated with the construction industry and manufactured products. He worked primarily in the midwestern states, and he was always a leader in his field. He eventually moved to the Dallas suburb of Richardson, where he lived with his wife, Jane, their daughter Jennifer, stepdaughter Patti Jo (PJ) and stepson Michael (Mike).
Automobiles and airplanes were always his passions. He was an avid NASCAR fan. He also earned his pilot’s license and was one of the first to own and fly a single seat, single engine plane. He reveled in delight as he passed along stories of his fun and exploits in the air.
His love of motors led him to market the patented process for the manufacture and marketing of a product called “Texas Two Step”. The company made the world’s first waterless organic wash and wax combination specially designed for automobiles, RVs, motorcycles, and aircraft. His sense of giving and service was highlighted by his long-standing involvement with the Dallas/Richardson VFW.
He had an unequaled sense of humor, always had a joke to tell, a smile on his face, and he was typically the life of the party.
Pat was preceded in death by his wife, Jane, his parents, his brother, Dr. Joseph E. Treon, and his stepson Michael and his wife Leslie. He is survived by his daughter Jennifer and her husband Todd Granberry, their daughters, Christina Shultz (Granberry) and her husband Ryan, and Madison, all of Parkland, FL; his stepdaughter PJ Blair of Richardson, TX; his sister Kathryn Ann (Treon) Bedich of Warren, OH, and his brothers William C. Treon, Richard T. Treon, and Dennis M. Treon, all of Phoenix, AZ.
A private family service is planned.
