Randy was raised in Richardson, Texas. Following high school, Randy joined the United States Marine Corps, serving from 1968 through 1972, including a tour in Vietnam where he was a forward observer. Randy was awarded the Bronze Star and two Purple Hearts.
Upon his return home, Randy attended Southern Methodist University and the University of Arkansas, where he studied biology and played football.
Following college, Randy met and married his wife of 43 years, Leah Leonard Ochoa. Randy and Leah were blessed with one daughter, Katherine Grace. Randy was a member of First United Methodist Church Richardson for more than thirty years.
Randy went on to work in retail sales, including Wrangler Jeans, before joining Jiffy Packaging Company. Jiffy was later acquired by Sealed Air Corporation. Randy worked for them for more than twenty years as a District Sales Manager and Trainer. He was named Salesman of the Year several times.
Randy was blessed with many wonderful friendships. He loved to entertain friends and family, play his guitars, ride his Harley, tease the family pets, and enjoy breakfast with his buddies after his retirement. He was lots of fun and had a generous and tender heart.
The family wishes to thank the dedicated staff of Medical City Plano’s COVID-19 Critical Care Unit, as well as VNA, for their courageous, compassionate and skilled care.
