Nietos, Armando, Carlos, Cynthia, Kathia, Gary, Jorge, Axel, Allan, Denise, Valeria, Diego, Amy, Abrille, Ana, Seth, Evelyn, Alexa, Isabella y Sabrina.
Our beloved, Reynalda Hernandez de Ugarte, left her earthly body on May 5, 2020, on an uncommonly peaceful spring afternoon in Dallas,Texas, to begin her journey to a heavenly abode, the House of our Father.
Mami Reyna, as she was called by her entire family, was born in Zempoala, Hidalgo, Mexico on March 22, 1935. As a young woman with many hopes, she traveled to Mexico City where she worked at an early age, always being an example of rectitude and commitment to her work.
In the mid-1950, she met the love of her life, Mario Ugarte, with whom she would marry 4 years later and with whom she would have the 9 children who become the great engine of her life.
There was no greater joy for Mami Reyna than having all her children gathered anywhere, no matter the time or place. As a young mother, she welcomed all her children on Sunday mornings to the comfort of her bed where she was covered, distributing her warmth to the children who first came to snuggle with her, late arrivals experiencing envy . A good taco was enough to celebrate any moment of life, at any time and day of the week. Mami Reyna showed her immense love through her delicious food on
Christmases, New Years, Birthdays, Mother's Day, Father's Day, any holiday… for Mami Reyna, everything was cause for celebration and the pretext for all her family to be together. With husband, children, sons-in-law, daughters-in-law and grandchildren, we created instant parties.
Our mother always had wise advice for anyone who asked for it, with common sense and honesty always ahead. We are so grateful for the freedom that she gave all of her children to do with our lives what we like the most. She was always respectful of our free will and decisions, however crazy and misguided we might be. When setbacks were experienced, Mami was always there without words, but with open arms to brush off the dirt, cleanse the wounds and help us back to our feet. She was always our number one fan and supporter.
The greatest lesson left to those who knew her and had the honor and fortune of being her children or friend was the enormous commitment of being a good mother and the moral principles to manage ourselves in life with rectitude. But above all things, we experienced her Unconditional Love.
In recent years, she had a great fondness for making jewelry, as well as living and having fun in afternoon sessions with her daughters painting on canvas. Mami Reyna, along with our father, was always ready to pack suitcases and let themselves go on vacation to wherever we could take them, regardless of physical fatigue or the equipment necessary for their best mobility. Mami was always an adventure lover.
She is survived by her husband Mario Ugarte and their 8 children Beatriz, Rocio, Araceli, Alfredo, Marisela, Edith, Victor and Tania, her sons-in-law Delfino, Adolfo, Paco, Keith, Jim and Eddie, her daughters-in-law Angie and Shelley, her grandchildren Nietos, Armando, Carlos, Cynthia, Kathia, Gary, Jorge, Axel, Allan, Denise, Valerie, Diego, Amy, Abrille, Ana, Seth, Evelyn, Alexa, Isabella and Sabrina and her great-grandchildren Rodrigo, Sofia, Christian and Issac.
She is preceded in death and reunited with her beloved son Gustavo, who surely received her with a lot of love on the other side of the bridge, together with God and with other loved ones who also traveled before her.
Mami Reyna does not leave within us a void but a space to filled with love and beautiful memories.
Rest in peace beloved mother.
