As a young man Bob worked for the City of Fort Worth as a surveyor and later he had a long career at the Fort Worth Star Telegram as a District Manager. But at heart Bob was an entrepreneur owning a restaurant in Garland for decades, he was in the car business from his teenage years until the day he passed. Bob was also in real estate and oil and gas ventures over the years. He had a passion for hard work and worked every day of his life always striving for the next deal. He is survived by his wife Polly Flanigan; daughter Lisa Flanigan Newsom; son Robert Lee Flanigan Jr.; son Michael Thomas Flanigan; son Jonathan Ian Flanigan, 10 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren and sister Kelly Flanigan Delorme. He is preceded in death by his parents Robert James Flanigan, Lois Reynolds Flanigan; his brother Charles R. Mullins; and his son Patrick James Flanigan.
