Robert Craig McCoy

Robert, who was known as “Bob” by family and friends, was born in Birmingham, Alabama, on March 26, 1941. Bob spent his early years in Jacksonville, Florida, then to moved New Orleans, Louisiana, was he was nine years old. An accomplished man, he graduated from Metairie Park Country Day in 1959. Bob received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration from the University of New Orleans in 1964, where he was a member of Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity and then went on to complete graduate work at Loyola University in New Orleans.

Bob was married to Rosemarie Mistretta McCoy on May 28 th, 1965. Bob lived in New Orleans for over 48 years where he was a member of the New Orleans Petroleum Club and served on the board of directors. He was a member of Metairie Country Club for over 30 years and served as President in 1988. In addition, Bob was a member of the Mystic Krewe of Hermes and would participate each year in Mardi Gras. In 1993, Bob moved to Dallas, Texas, where he resided for the last 28 years during which time he was a member of Bent Tree Country Club.

Bob had a career in the oil and gas industry where he worked for Noble Drilling, ODECO (Ocean Drilling and Exploration Company), Huthnance Drilling Company, and Dual Drilling Company where he retired in 1996 as Vice President. He enjoyed fishing, cooking, and travelling around the world. In addition, he was devoted to his family and friends dropping anything to support them during life moments as well as any challenges they were enduring. He spent the last 25 years in retirement in one of the roles he loved best as grandfather to his 3 grandchildren who affectionately referred to him as “Happy”.

He was precedent in death by his parents Benjamin Cooper McCoy, Jr. and Lilybelle Hillhouse McCoy, as well as his brother Benjamin Cooper McCoy III. He is survived by his wife, Rosemarie Mistretta McCoy, who he was married to for over 56 years, as well his three children Kelley McCoy Raymond (William) of Los Angeles, California, Maria Mistretta McCoy of Dallas, Texas, and Craig Arthur McCoy (Tonya) of Lacombe, Louisiana. In addition, Bob is survived by his three grandchildren, Kimberlee Ann Raymond, Stephanie Nichole Raymond, and Eric Mathew Raymond of Los Angeles, California.
