Robert E. (Bob) Morrison II died June 21, 2015. He was born Dec 30, 1947. His death was a result of increasing poor health. Bob had two recent stays in rehab caused by back surgery and a fall.
Bob was a graduate of SMU in Dallas. From there he started his life-long career in radio as a News Journalist. While in SMU, he began his profession by driving a Headliner Cruiser for KLIF 1190 with Ron Chapman. It was during this job he first met his "soul mate", Susan Camp, whom he married in July 1997.
He was an adjunct professor at Criswell College and News Director at KCBI, a Christian format station. While there, he won several awards for his Political and Election coverage.
He moved on as managing Editor at TXCN. He also served on the Board of the Press Club of Dallas. Next, he became News and Sports Director at USA Radio, a time with Citadel Broadcasting/Metro Networks as a newsman, and then News Director at WBAP and KRLD. At the time of his death, Bob was News Director for Leading Edge Radio Network in Dallas.
Bob was inducted into the Texas Radio Hall of Fame in 2008. He won multiple awards while at USA radio for Excellence in Broadcasting.
He is survived by his wife, Susan Morrison, son, Austin Morrison and wife Erika, grandsons Gabriel, Seth, and Jude, Brother Sidney and wife Harriett, numerous in-laws, nieces, nephews and countless friends.
A memorial service will be held Sunday June 28 at 3:00 p.m. at Sparkman Funeral Home 1029 S. Greenville Ave. Richardson Texas 75081, in the Chapel. (Please note the address is Greenville Avenue in Richardson on the East side of Greenville across from Restland Cemetery).
