OBITUARY
Rolando Romeo Munoz
September 4, 1950 – July 1, 2018
Rolando Romeo “Rollie” Muñoz, 67, of Dallas, Texas passed away July 1, 2018, with his family by his side.
He is predeceased by his father, Leonel Filepe Muñoz, his Mother, Julia Anzaldua Muñoz, and his brother, Leonel Xavier Muñoz. Rolando was born September 4, 1950 in Edinburg, Texas. He was an Alter Boy at Sacred Heart Catholic Church and went to Sacred Heart Elementary School. He graduated from Edinburgh High School where he played football and baseball. He received a B.S. in Mathematics from Pan Am University, now University of Texas Rio Grande Valley, in 1973. He was the president of his fraternity, Phi Kappa Theta.
He married Donna W. “Wendy” Muñoz on June 7, 1980, and rejoiced at the birth of their daughter in 1984. Rolando worked one year as a High School Math Teacher in Brownsville and was then recruited by Conoco as an Oil and Gas Landman in Houston. He then went to Enserch Exploration as a Senior Land Representative. Enserch closed their Houston office and Rolando moved his family to Dallas to work in the Dallas Office. With the downturn of the oil and gas business, he worked several jobs and finally went to Bank of America as a Specialty Asset Manager to, as he would say, “work the other side of the table” by representing Bank of America’s clients’ oil and gas holdings. He retired from Bank of America in 2015.
He was a member of the American Association of Professional Landmen and an active member of St. Patrick Catholic Church serving as a proclaimer, choir member and a vital part of establishing the ACTS Retreat Program. Rolando had a great passion for his family, church, golf, travel, his daughter’s theatre productions, the Texas Rangers and the Dallas Cowboys.
He is survived by his wife Donna “Wendy” Muñoz, his daughter Anastasia “Tasia” Muñoz, his son-in-law Seth Magill, his granddaughter Tara Magill, and his sister Sylvia Muñoz.
The Funeral will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, July 14, 2018, at St. Patrick Catholic Church. A Rosary Service will be held on Friday, July 13, 2018, at 7:00 p.m. St. Patrick Catholic Church. The family asks for donations to go to St. Patrick Church ACTS.

Unfortunately, I never saw Rollie after our PKT days at PANAM. My vivid memory of Brother Rollie is that he was a genuinely solid Brother, a true gentleman, and projected great leadership qualities. Will always remember that smile! RIP Brother

Rollie (and his brother Butch) was an important friend & neighbor of my growing up years. We shared so many memories from childhood to our high school years. He was a great influence on my formative years and I'll never forget him. Rest in Peace, Rollie!
